As a teenager stratcat started to play trumpet but found other things to play instead.

Actually, it's cornet. Would you believe I dropped my gum??? Here's a Far Side cartoon dummied up starring my band teacher and me. I started cornet in January of 1963, 5O years ago already. Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass was the rage. Pre-Beatles... Mr. Kjellberg lives in my town around the corner a piece. I mailed him a copy and he got a kick out of it. I wonder if the time flew as fast for him as it did for me?

This album cover REALLY caught my attention at a young age. As a kid I saw Louie Armstrong w/ my parents. That was the first time music impressed me. I know at that time (65-66?) he wasn't near his prime but I was really amazed. My parents said they had never seen me get so excited like that before. I wanted to play trumpet because of that (or sax because of Boots Randolph) but the school band teacher wanted me to play trombone (because I could find the correct pitches). I said screw that and soon went off looking for my gum. Attachments:

The little red hand prints on the plate have taken on new meaning now.

I was waiting to see if KCT was going to post a picture of these Green Zebra tomato seeds. Thanks to kmetz, I received mine in April and got a big kick out of the Warning on the packet, heheh.

I hope he was really careful getting back up. If not, he didn't think it was funny for long!
