Hello my fellow gardening aficionados, It has a been a long time since I have posted here so I thought I would re-introduce myself. --My name is Terry and I live in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. I like all kinds of gardening, I'm trying to learn to play guitar and am a member of Family Worship Center here in Kalamazoo. I like growing stuff that smells good like dill, basil, parsley... even if I do not use it. I am trying to break the world record tomato of 7 lbs. 12 oz. grown by Gordon Graham. I have a couple of good possibilities this year although I have only grown tomatoes just over 4 lbs. so far. I am somewhat limited as I have been sick with colitis and numerous other diagnosis' since 2002: so I only really grow things I can watch all the time here in town. I did not have any gardens at any of our family farms out in the country this year. I will post some new pictures when I get time. I hope to have fun and learn from everybody here.

Hi everyone - I have been gardening for over 30 years, originally from the UK, I now live in NW Germany.. People call me a Tomatonut/Tomatoholic and I love growing Heirloom Varieties - all my veg gardening is done in containers.
I got a good crop of Heirlooms this year, over 20kg's, which was mostly turned into soups and sauces...the cherry varieties ended up being used for salads or just picking from the bowl as we walked past!!

Hi ,
My name is Doug and I am new here. I live in Kansas and mostly grow peppers. I found this site by following a member from a homesteading forum here. This looks like a nice site and plan on hanging out here for awhile.

What all do you like to grow, lotte? How long is your growing season? Do you have long hours of daylight?

I like to grow tomatoes, chili and peppers, cucumbers, peas and beans, pumpkins, berries and much more, have a large collection of mints and then also a lot of perennials. My season starts in winter in the windowsills just after Christmas with sowing the chilis and peppers. Then I have a glasshouse where I bring the sowed things in april if weather allows to.But the ordinary season outside is from april to october if we, as now, has a warm spring and fall.Long hours of daylight are in may and june and also a bit of july.Oh I miss the light right now, are becoming a bit depressed in the dark and cold.

Hi, I've lurked here for awhile and thought it was about time I joined. I garden on Vancouver Island in B.C., I'm a golden oldie and have to muddle my way through all this computer stuff. I have gardened all my life, a bit of a collector at heart, my main interest at the moment is in perennials, and in the veggie department heirloom beans. I'm a member of Seeds of Diversity and the last few years I have been hunting down and helping in a small way getting some of the heirloom beans back into circulation. I now have over 200 varieties. I do belong to another forum where I hang my hat most of the time but hope to pop in here once in awhile for a visit.
Annette
