I like the recent threads screen and starting using it. Honestly, I never noticed it before it was mentioned in this thread.

I'd like to see all of the forum. I've got 2" of green leaves squeezing in the forum. Welcome shows everything. Vegetable Gardening is chopped off at the L in Last Post. Other Gardens is OK as is Smoke House. Coffee Shop stops right at T of Last Post. Boards and Features thread chopped off at Last Po. All that on full screen. The problem existed for some time and then some changes were made. I was very pleased to respond and say to leave everything the way is was then. Next time here, same thing. Oh, for title page, it's Ot Just Tomatoes as the N is chopped off!

Thought that I had this problem solved by accessing through the IncrediMail browser. Then everything was normal. However, wasn't logged in. As soon as that took place, same as before. Forum presently is totally useless.

paquebot, could you please send me a screenshot of what you're seeing? This is baffling... And could you let me know which browser you're using, and the screen resolution setting you're using? Are you having this problem at the Homesteading forum also?

Richard, if it only baffles you, there isn't a word for what I felt. Now it's not only all back but bigger than my screen! I can work with that. This was the only Proboards forum that was affected and then just on IE-11. IncrediMail browser was perfect as long as I wasn't logged in. As soon as I logged in, reverted to the problem. Both browsers are set at 100% so that wasn't the problem. As long as it doesn't change, the way it is tonight will be fine.

Being back to normal lasted probably a few weeks and then back to showing only two-thirds of the home page. Thought that I had it to where I could like with it for awhile. Then tried to find a theme friendlier to my deteriorating sight and can't get it back. Oh well, must be meant to be as my fate.

If I was to guess out loud, the premis could be; if there was more forums, then folks would post more. Which would cause more people to come here.
I dunno if that works like that. I expect that more posting begets more people...

Ok coppice, how about giving me/us some suggestions on what other forum/catagories you think will do this... I myself think that is because there are so many other better gardening forums where people post and they just don't like posting the same thing in everyone of them, but that's just my opinion...

The best working thing I saw you try was to post leading questions. You did that just about every day for the first couple years. An' it worked too.
Paq could probably pull it off too.
I must disagree, there are a couple of bigger forums, but the tenor here is lovely. Its FB that sucks most of the air out of the room.

Ok, I will alternate. By asking a question one day, and finding someplace to answer a different question the next day.
Part of what I think begets more posts here, is more posting. How many forums there are here, is above my pay-grade.
I will try not to troll, and create fights only for their own sake. But spirited debate is not ruled out.
Think of this as a text based set of jumper-cables.

Very good points, Coppice! I think it's hard for new people to stick around when they don't see any new posts for a while. If the core group of 10(? or so) posters would post or reply to something even every other day, it would make for quite a bit more activity.
As far as number of forums, I think the fewer the better. I've noticed on other boards, an all-purpose general category is usually the most used and visited. Though it is nice to have categories on growing that can be searched later for historical purposes, I don't think for a board this small, that worrying about thread drift or off topic is at all helpful. Something somewhere is better than nothing!

This time of year posts at all forums are reduced in number. Personally I would rather post when there is something to say that may interest someone. I was going to put in a part about something intelligent but then I would never be posting. I still visit the site(s) but with so little activity to relate to folks.... We could discuss the Cubs or the books I am reading or the music I like or my village's new wastewater lagoons or my trip to Costco or my dog's kennel cough being cured with medicine or lots of other inane drivel....so who really cares.
Just hang in there; let others know where the good places are and the good people who take part and it will pick up ...or not. Don't try and force things. I like it here and do not plan on leaving except for the long sleep

I'd like a blessings thread-we could each name something good that happened today.
