It has been raining for 3 days so I finally sat down and worked on my garden planting plan. You guys on this forum are making me feel like I am getting behind but I keep reminding myself that many of you live in the SOUTH and that I am not really late. Then I see pictures of your tomato babies.....
OK, well at least now I mostly have a plan and I went through all of my seed packets and arranged them by what gets planted first. I still need to pick up some more spinach seeds and a bag of seed starting mix but I am pretty much ready now even though the tomato seeds will not get planted until about the 3rd week of March. If we have warm weather I may be able to plant peas, lettuce, radishes and spinach outdoors at the same time but sometimes in March we get more snow! It's a gamble.
I also found a Brown Marmorated Stinkbug hiding amongst my seed packets so I squished him with a tissue. Phew. they call them STINK bugs with good reason. I had to go and scrub my fingers before I could continue working on my seeds.

I didn't really do much today. DH and I worked out the layout for where to plant my potted citrus trees on the south side of the house. We also planned ahead for a spot for the future purchase of a new Satsuma.
DH and I also went to the home improvement store and picked up some parts to extend the drip irrigation system to the blueberries the backyard and make some repairs to the front yard lawn sprinklers.

@naiwen, looks like you covered all the food groups in that one breakfast My grand daughter was here yesterday and we cut some flowers from the yard for her to put in her bedroom. Today we're taking Johnny's car in for service.

I spent the day helping my BFF move a TON of her mother's household stuff into a storage unit. It's a complicated situation that involves her mother moving in and her hubby moving out for a while. Hopefully it's for the best in the long run.

Today, I set my early varieties of pepper seeds to soak - Chocolate, White, and Gold Bullet habaneros, and the Aji Dulce, which is really another habanero, without much heat at all. Tomorrow, they will go in the pots, which are on the heat mat.
Later, I put some seeds on some coir down in my hydroponics. I put some culantro and some peppermint seeds - both extremely small - and 3 types of leaf lettuce, the one I saved, and two new varieties this year. We'll see what happens. I wanted to see what the new ones were like, before planting outside.

I drained the pepper seeds, and set them in the petri dishes to pre-sprout, before putting them in the pots. I've got to get the pots at the proper temperature on the heat mat, tweaking the thermostat, before getting the sprouts in them.
I also put some more seeds in the hydroponics pots, a few to be transplanted to the SIPs on the deck later. Worked great last year.

I love the idea of one of those but we get too much wind here. It would have blown into a million pieces in yesterday's storm.

My area isn't considered windy but the way our house is situated has us in a wind tunnel. The flag flies straight out almost all of the time and it's usually cooler than at the bottom of the driveway. I like it in the summer. I moved my little greenhouse all around the yard and finally realized I needed to strap it to a secure building before it would stand up for any amount of time at all. No matter how many plants I sat on the shelves sooner or latter the wind would get under it and over it would go.

I was out of town for a few days, and got back to find this morning that my Mac mini tower has died! I knew I had to replace it soon, because it has not been able to be upgraded for some time, even started looking before I left town. I thought it died once about three years ago, but after being ignored for a few weeks it miraculously started up on one last start attempt and has been great since. Most of the stuff I have backed up on an external drive, except for a few recent unfinished projects that I was gathering material for. But it's still going to be a big pain to purchase and get stuff transferred to a new computer. Blech. I have a laptop I can use, but really prefer to sit in front of my big screen for less eye strain.

really prefer to sit in front of my big screen I don't know if that makes us old fashioned but I prefer using my desktop PC with a "real" keyboard and a mouse too. I use my smartphone when I am away and it's convenient but I don't know how people can use them all of the time. I like the "big screen"

Oh,no september, I'm sorry to hear about the computer. I HAVE to have a desktop. It's like my own personal little space that I have to be intentional to use. I have my phone and tablet for other things, but I don't like being able to take my computer with me. I think it would take over my life more than it already has. I hope you're able to find the right computer quickly.

Thank you but I came to my senses. I really have no where that I could put it ( >,< ) where the wind wouldn't send it flying. Just really isn't practical here.

So sorry Spike... I love my greenhouse. I think I will have one even if I am not growing anything in it... just to sit in the warm sunshine at this time of year. I would love love LOVE a sunroom with a hard surface floor so I could have my house plants where I could enjoy them. I want a few citrus trees in there. ah... maybe we will become wealthy and I can have a trailer in south Tx... lol. I would be content in a trailer though, just so its warm! and I can pick my oranges grapefruit and lemons from an outside tree.
