Like 25 degrees colder than it has been so barely 40 today with rain this afternoon....warming up to about 70 tomorrow then a high of 55 for Wed and climbing back to 60's....Seesaw weather but at least it is not snowy, blustery, or too much rain yet........very unusual March but we will take it.

Winter's back! Today, we've had snow, graupel (snow pellets) and, for good measure, a little sleet (ice pellets). There is snow on the lawn.
We're under a Freeze Warning. Tuesday morning we had 22.5F (-5.3C) and this morning was 25F (-3.9C). The current temp is just above freezing and I'm ready to go back to hibernating.

We've got rain, overcast & drizzly out - typical spring - hope that the snow/hail & such have gone for the season - got my bulbs out in pots on the balcony - not much happening except there's a few sprouts - takes time but I still get amazed at how awesome watching new life break ground is - I dunno, is it me or do you always feel a quiet amazement when you see new life happening?

Hot. Hit 88F or so today. Ground is still pretty wet, overcast with sun coming through occasionally all equals MUGGY!
My shirt was drenched pretty much the whole day.

Wow, that looks familiar. We got hail heavy enough to leave drifts on the ground last weekend. Hopefully, you didn't have any damage?

Just came out from under a thunderstorm warning for 60mph+ winds. There was very strong wind but I think we got lucky. I'm pretty sure we didn't hit anywhere close to 60mph. The leading edge of the storms itself was moving at 40 mph. Think we'll settling into regular old run-of-the-mill thunderstorms now.

What time did the storm pass through your area, TDD? It was strong enough to make it down here - 3:00 am. Sounds like it slowed down by the time it reached ya'll. I was getting ready to go to work. Sat out on the covered porch watching the light show and listening to tree limbs cracking. (Yup, I still have some trees left) Torrential rain for a good 10 minutes - welcome sight since we've not had the recent rains you've been getting. Erie dry thunder and lightening for another 30 minutes, then it was over. The damage is minor, and the ground is solid - just enough to get wet.
I'm loving this spring - starting out with a little moisture in the soil - as opposed to the past two years where we were already in drought-stressed conditions by this time.
Hope all is well at DLD-Land!

Izzy,
It came through about 7:30AM and the heavy wind was mostly done by 7:45AM. We did get a good bit of rain from it in a short time. Lot of pooling water, but ground was already close to saturated before it hit.
Glad it gave you some rain without damage.

Low 70's F and thunderbooming with some rain so far. Looks like it could either dump the bucket or just pass on through with a light and sound show.

Jeeez- you're not that far away, but the difference is like you're in another state: we are hot and dry and humid already. While digging today, I realized that rain we just got has already left town. Dry. Dry. Dry.

It really is amazing the difference that distance is making. Last late spring/summer, the clay was so dry when I would dig, it would literally disintegrate into powder as the shovel went in. Did this at least 3 feet down.
Today, despite putting leaves, palm fronds etc. into the pathways, I was sinking into the mud. I don't remember the semi-constant rains lasting this long for most springs. Usually it's Jan and February and then slacks off. We are into April and I'm still not sure when we'll get enough of a break for me to work that last row over with the pitchfork so it can be planted. We didn't get any heavy duty rain today, but light to medium rain for most of the day. I barely got a head of cabbage, some swiss chard leaves a couple of onions and a garlic harvested for dinner tonight. Boots were very muddy too.

We have a freeze warning out for tonight. Tomorrow's high is going to be 47. Things are dry here, high fire danger. We could sure use some rain.

Cool out, no rain so far today, supposedly going up into double digits (low double digits - like around 15 Celcius supposedly) - looked at weather forecast & looks like things are slowly warming up - can't wait for it to be 'safe' to travel through the mountains with only All Season Tires on. The sun is trying to come out ... was a wonderful shining moon in the sky last night ... awesome ...

Overnight, we had 24.5F (-4.2C). It warmed into the 60's (17C) today and wasn't bad. Hope that's the end of the bitter nighttime temperatures.

Right now? HOT! We had record breaking heat on the weekend, 103 Sat. 105 Sunday. I'm rigging up some temp shade for the tomatoes, we usually don't put up the real shade structure for another month but they're really suffering right now. The lettuces, chard and remaining cabbages are frying. Supposed to cool back down to mid 80's by Thursday, I'm not ready for summer yet!
