Its working on being ninety here at the little house on the Appalachia. The tomatoes are loving it. Lettuce on the other hand is getting beat up.

Twice today I was woken up by my weather radio. The second time before 7a with a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. The thunderstorm left 1.2" of rain.
We had 78F for a high. Downstate, they had 89F!
Before 4p, my weather radio was going off again. This time we had a Tornado Warning. I put my cat in his carrier and took him to Mom's basement to ride the storm out. Luckily, we just had a thunderstorm.
Farm fields have some standing water. Stink Crick, in town, is over the banks a little. Had to pump my crawl space.
At midnight, it's 58F and foggy out.

We have had some really unseasonable warm weather here high 80's and lows about 60's/70's, and it's been raining here on and off almost all week, but we ain't complaining...

Hot, heading for hotter, expecting 90 today and lower 90s the rest of the week. We supposedly had a good chance of rain, but our "rain shield" is holding - it's raining north of us in AL and south of us in the Gulf, but not a drop here. With us consistently running temps in the upper 80s and lower 90s, I hope the summer pattern of thunderstorms will establish itself early. We need it!

We have 80F! Was 61.5F in the living room this morning. It's been quite cool lately, so this is a nice change. April was colder than March here. Weird!
Time to get outside and deadhead Mom's daffodil patch...

We had high 60's today. It wasn't bad. Opened windows and had the fan going to heat the house. Aired out the foundation. Mom is way up in the Upper Peninsula on vacation and had 76F. She got her first Black fly bite on the 10th, a good 11 days ahead of time.

Yesterday, we had 89F (31.7C) for a little while. I'm not used to the heat at all. After a trace of rain last night, today was only 67F (19.4C). I got out and did some heavy digging. Tonight, to the North and West of me, there's a Frost Advisory and a Freeze Warning.

Temps coming down from 105 to 98 today or so through the weekend which is average for this time of year. It'll heat up again next week and in a week or two the blast furnace will kick in and it's purely and decidedly HOT for the next 4 1/2 months. We just hunker down and try to keep everything we can alive, including ourselves. We're also under a red flag wind warning which is making fighting the fires up north a nightmare. Gotta pray for those firefighters!

Sunny, warm but not too warm or humid - just nice - we're in a nice phase where there's no rain, lotsa sunshine & wonderful moderate temps. Awesome. Yet, at night there's still that chill in the air ... spring is here & summer's right around the corner.

After having 33F (.6C) on the morning of the 17th, the temps have been rising. Yesterday, my brother went swimming in the river in his town. He didn't find any leeches. Right now we have 93F (34C) and I'm glad to be indoors! It's been so dry, that we have high fire danger. The Red Flag Warning is for counties to the North. I can see a Pink Lady's Slipper out the back window at Mom's.

I got out for a walk tonight before 10p and it was still 78F(25.5C) out. It's now 72F(22C). Last night I heard the first Bullfrog at Mom's neighbor's pond.

Today, we had 89F (31.7C). I was inside lots. At 11.31p, it's still 73F (23C) out.
After 8p, I saw a Hummingbird working some plastic flowers I stuck in the soil in my garden. ;D

We had rain earlier this week & now a warm & sunny day out there. Thing is, there's some tree in this area that every spring throws tons, & I mean tons, of this white stuff everywhere - it gets onto & into everything - it's like a snowstorm out there - of course that leads to sneezing & cleaning up the mess that this trees create.

Monday we had 91F(32.8C) and I was inside lots. Today we had 69F(20.6C) with a couple sprinkles and I felt good being outside preparing the garden soil.
Tonight, we're under a Frost Advisory. We were supposed to get down to 36F(2.2C) but I see they bumped it up to 40F(4.4C). I'm glad I haven't planted yet...

Low 50's here today. On and off rain showers. Rained all day yesterday. Tomorrow is supposed to be partly sunny and 67. Looks like a better day to get out and do some gardening.

Raining, still ... again ... it's June so it's time to get some sunshine here - my plants & little indoor garden needs the sun - so do we! Time for some natural Vitamin D!

88 degrees F. here & not a cloud in the sky. Equally hot for several days. It sure induces a sweat when I'm digging up weedy sod. Lord help me, is there a more difficult job? In any case, the garden is all seeded & planted. Just about everything popping up nicely.

93 F and muggy. A few clouds, but not much. 15 minutes outside gets you sweating good. A couple hours easily soaks shirt AND jeans through. Hydration is becoming important.

We got some rain earlier today. It didn't add up to much, wetted the surface, but I'll take anything I can get right now. Between the rain and cloud cover it at least cooled us a little. Topping out at 90F today.
