Today (Wednesday) we started out at 41F(5C). On my walk to the Post Office, I chatted with a friend by the Courthouse. 25miles(40km) to the Northwest they had a frosty morning! There were freezing temperatures to the North, as well. We only had a high of 69F(20.5C) with a cool Lake Breeze. At midnight, it's dropped to 49F(9.4C) already. Ugh! We're supposed to get hot again in a couple days. Come on, Summer!

The morning of the 14th, a city 75 miles to the North (121km) had 32F(0C)! We're back into the heat. Today, we had 87F(30.6C) and I got some tomatoes and lots of peppers planted. Around 9p, we started to get some much-needed rain. At 9.15p, a Hummingbird was still working the Coral Bells even though there was a light rain. Before 10p, I saw a Lightning Bug in Mom's backyard in the rain.

We had a slightly cooler spell over the last couple of days. It was still hot for most of the day yesterday, but it cooled enough to be almost comfortable outside by 5:30 p.m. (Lately it's been hot until late at night.) The heat is coming back today, though. It was nice while it lasted!

Rained again this morning, but the sun came out for the afternoon. Forecast has been revised to sunshine for the next few days. Thus ends the rain for now.

Rained again this morning, but the sun came out for the afternoon. Forecast has been revised to sunshine for the next few days. Thus ends the rain for now. I had planned to send Debby over to visit you and bring you some water, but it seems she likes Florida better. The NHC is now saying that she's gonna stay over here for three or four days. Maybe she will come visit you after she gets bored with dumping rain on us. (This is one of those rare occasions when I am grateful for my very sandy soil. )

Wheee doggies! It's just plain hot out there! Sitting under the shade of a big ole mesquite tree, it felt like the tail-winds of a jet liner on the tarmac at take-off.

We had 96F(35.6C) today. I wasn't out that much until the sun was low in the sky.
Downstate, Ypsilanti had 105F(40.6C). What's up with that?

Wow Strat, ya'll are getting our weather!
decent cloud cover this morning and it is currently sprinkling. Don't expect a lot out of it, but even the cooling affect is very much appreciated. It's only 84F at 11 AM. Pleasant if you don't mind getting wet.

Upwards of 111 degrees all week and won't drop down to 105 til the 4th when we may get the first of our monsoon storms. Excessive heat warnings til then, we've had dust storms a couple of times this week and rain farther south of us but we haven't gotten any yet. So far the year to date rain here measured at less than half an inch. We, like most of the country are burning up and dryer than usual and gardens are suffering accordingly.

Overcast - hear there's some rain in the forecast for the Cdn. long weekend - it's overcase, should be around 19C but it's humid (around 70ish F). It's been humid here for awhile ... We've had flooding again this year in some parts of BC ... not here though.

Today, we had 91.5F(33C) with a strong, hot wind. Really dried things out. A newly cultivated field by Mom's was blowing away. I'm glad I got my garden in late so I won't be having blossom drop on my tomatoes in this heatwave. After midnight, it's 69F(20.6C), so it's pretty comfortable and the garden's growing. At Mom's tonight, I saw Lightning Bugs and heard Bullfrogs. I live for this summer weather.

It rained a little overnight, and started to rain some more this morning. It hasn't added up to a lot yet, but it's something! A little thunder here and there, but not a lot. Forecast is continued showers today and tomorrow. Temps should stay in 80'sF and low 90'sF!

We had 95F today, so I had my time indoors. Skipped the nap.
Before midnight, it's over 73F and the gardens are still growing. Hoping for some much-needed rain.

Awoke to a thunderstorm this morning. Had some rain later, too. One of the rain barrels at Mom's is full again.
Ended up with .5" of rain and 86F. It's 73F before 1a.

One up-side of this past weekends wind-sheer and mega power outtage is, its time to clean out the chest freezer.
Mostly its to clear out, out of code stuff as the chest never defrosted. Swordfish steaks??? Who (the heck) bought those? Off to the compost can you go!

It was smoking out today-97F. I was out early picking a few berries.
Took the big nap in the late afternoon. Carried loads of water to my plants. The big rabbit was in my garden again, so I herded him to jump over the fence entrance.
It's ~71F at 2.32a. The county to the South has Excessive Heat Warning. That's only 5 miles away...

100 degerees at 10 a.m. on it's wat to around 106 again today. I can't wait. Some of my plants are starting to feel the effect of the heat and intense sun. I'm holding on to the hope of cool front that is supposed to come through next week. Than we will only be in the upper 90's

We had rain this morning so it didn't start heating up until noon. Right now it's 83 with 67% humidity. I managed to get a little mulch on the garden after it stopped raining but came in when it started getting too muggy.
