Yes, you should immediately go out in the yard and dance with a rubber chicken. This is the approved procedure for occurrences of "something in the sky that is not blue." You will know you have performed this correctly if booming noises and flashes of light ensue and you experience dihydrogen monoxide contamination.

From Wednesday night to Friday night we got some real rain!!! At Mom's, we got 2.05" and the rain barrels are in great shape. My place received 3.2". Wonderful not to carry any water for a couple days already.

It cooled off and there must be a huge water main break around me cause water is falling from the sky. It's weird.

Our monsoon is in full swing now and very active compared to last year. We got some rain on Sat. and Sunday and maybe more today, enough to fill all my barrels and buckets for a total of around 300 gallons which I'll use on my seedlings and container plants. We now have a grand total of about 1.25 in. rainfall for the year so far. Temps today at 98 deg. but VERY humid, will go up to around 105 again later in the week. This pattern will continue til the end of August then our dry heat will return.

Had a nasty line of T-storms move through here earlier. Strong winds, lots of lightning, and about an inch of rain in 30 minutes. Luckily there was no damage that I can tell. (Everything that was likely to fall over had already done so with the near-daily T-storms we've had lately.) Cooled down to 78 now (5pm) because of the boomer, which is nice.

we are experiencing a cold wave: it dropped to the lower 90's
It's odd when 92 doesnt feel uncomfortable.

After 1a, it's still 77.5F out and is it humid. We were supposed to get thunderstorms tonight, maybe even severe ones. Doesn't look promising. As we hit 91F today, I was looking forward to not carrying water on Sunday... A little while ago I heard some thunder out over Saginaw Bay. That storm just missed us. We could really use the rain as we're in a moderate drought here.

The monsoon humidity has lifted here, 112 yesterday and today and expecting record heat of 114 tomorrow. Watermelons are loving it though.

It's 65F out and we're getting some sprinkles. For the next few days we're supposed to only have highs in the 60's and rain likely each day. On Wednesday, I made sure to push the mower at my place since I hadn't mowed since 23 June. ;D

Rain, rain again. Not the usual afternoon thunderstorms that come and go quick and let the sun shine most of the day, but gray nearly all day and drizzling between thunderstorms. Weird weather for us in summer. (We usually get this kind of weather when a front stalls out in spring.) Yesterday was the first rain-free day in a couple of weeks for me, but the wet is back today; it's been raining since before dawn. I feel guilty complaining about too much rain when so much of the country is in drought, but more and more of the garden is succumbing to diseases and with daily rain anything I could spray would just wash right back off. Supposedly next week will be drier, but we're looking at rain all weekend. I just wonder how much will be salvageable by the time we dry out. I may end up having to rip most things out and just start the fall garden next month. Meh. If I cared about the lawn, I'd be happy, though. It hasn't looked this lush and green in years.

Hurray, this is the second day in a row of sunshine! ;D
It's about 90 now (4:30 p.m.), and the lows the last couple of nights have been in the mid-70s. The downside is 90% average humidity for the last couple of days...but it's great to see blue skies and a few fluffy white clouds after over two weeks of rain.

It has been mid to upper 90'sF daytime temps and mid to upper 70's nightime temps for the last week. For most of that time we've had off and on cloud cover. Night before last it rained well. I'm not sure how much in the terms of inches, but it did soak the ground through instead of just wetting the surface. Yesterday when the sun broke through, it was very hot. Uncomfortable on the skin. Probably intensified by the amount of water vapor in the air. It was pleasant this morning.

Off and on rain and gray skies...again. I would say that it's like Seattle rather than Florida, except that it gets hot whenever the rain gives us a day off.

We're 85F now with a hot, Summer sun. After some rain this month, we've been downgraded from Moderate Drought to Abnormally Dry. I'm still carrying loads of water.
As my tomatoes are just starting to ripen, I'm loving this warm weather. Should have a few more days of mid-to-high 80's with warm nights.
Time to go back out...

Beautiful sunny day here. Tomorrow should be nice, too. However, Tuesday and Wednesday might be "interesting" since Isaac appears to planning a vacation in my area.

Today I saw 89F and stayed inside for much of the heat. Around 7.45p, I carried water to my plants for about an hour. My glasses steamed up. While I was out for a walk at 9.13p, it was still 77F out. When I got back to my place, I saw two Candle Balloons (Sky Lanterns) come drifting over my yard. Weird!

Had a nice day today, about 90 for a high and upper 60s for a low, sunny most of the day.
Now it looks like Isaac is going to visit Mississippi or Louisianna instead of the Florida Panhandle. (I am not letting my guard down until it's ashore...Gulf storms do crazy stuff sometimes.) But even if Isaac passes us by, we're going to get wet and blustery weather the next few days.
Hope you folks in MS and LA are preparing and I hope the storm isn't that bad for you. On the plus side, if Isaac goes into LA and then tracks north, it might bring some rain to places that really need it.

We got down to 61F this morning. It was 88F and humid today, so I was inside lots. I got back outside before dark. Looked around my gardens and got sprinkled on. After 10p, I was out for my walk in a light rain. It was 71F and the rain felt great! For our friends in Isaac's path, keep an eye on the weather.
