Basically, respond to the poster above you. Pick one of their options, and then come up with one your own. Note: Please give a brief reason as to why you chose what you did. I'll start us off...
Lettuce or Cabbage?

@daylilydue
I choose Cabbage. Why, you say? Although considered lowly by some, it has many quality attributes. It is available in some interesting shapes. There are the pointed varieties like Early Jersey Wakefield, the Late Flat Dutch, and enormous varieties like Winningstadt! And who doesn't love the colour of Red Rock or the wrinkles of a Savoy? But my favourite thing about Cabbage is all of the deliciousness I can make from them. Braised red cabbage to accompany a goose at Christmas. Cabbage Rolls for a cold winter's night. And fermented side dishes like Sauerkraut and Kimchi! Lowly? Not likely!
And for the next This or That, how about
Paste or Beefsteak?

Beefsteak, as one slice covers a slice of bread when making a sandwich. That is very important to me. This or that? Beans or corn?

Jaaaaaason, that's not a fair question!
If I was forced - I say FORCED to pick one, I guess it would be beans. More production out of a smaller area, more ways to prepare, less trouble to freeze ...
Carrots or collards?

is this like red VS blue ? if it is, I just don't care
I continually seek the truth and don't really care if I am correct on a topic

spacecase0, nope... just little game that I thought would be fun to play? september, I'm going with collards as they go really well with the other food group... BACON... Radish or Beet?

Radish, since I don't like the "earthy" flavor of beets.
Apple or peach?

|
Post by bluelacedredhead on Mar 29, 2017 16:44:49 GMT -5
I have to choose between those two??
Okay, Apple it is then. Why? There are many more varieties of apples than peaches. Apples have a much greater tolerance of weather conditions in which to grow. Plus, they don't damage as easily as peaches, store far longer without processing of some kind. Plus I have several recipes that easily accommodate both fruits.
Green beans or Wax Beans?

september, I almost asked Onions or garlic but went with beans instead. Isn't that funny? Love them both, but I prefer Garlic. I'd rather Roast garlic over roast onions anyday, especially in Hummus! Yum. Bell Peppers or Chile Peppers??

|
|
|
Post by bluelacedredhead on Apr 17, 2017 7:24:41 GMT -5
Pole cuz you can plant squash or lettuce underneath the pole. Bush beans take up too much space for a small garden like mine.

|
|
|
Post by Laura_in_FL on Apr 21, 2017 14:39:55 GMT -5
If I could get more production out of them, hearts. They can be sliced and used like a beefsteak, but are meaty enough for sauce.
Lettuce or spinach?
