Shopping thise morning and just about everything left was 10-12 pounds. Got home and wife looked at the grocery receipt and it was enough to where I could have gotten one for 47¢ a pound. No thanks! One in the freezer and one in the fridge is more than enough!

@pongardener, I did have to do the sink thaw for a few hours after all. But everything worked out fine in the end. :-D

Just had a small turkey, 12+ pounder this year by comparison to previous years...Usually try to get at least 22lbs...but that was if I was cooking for the big crowd... This year it was just The Man and me...so 12 lbs was plenty...
Several years ago, I found a 32 pounder in the bin...just had to have it...was cooking for a large group... It was so big, I tried cramming it in the 5 gallon bucket as usual to brine it and it just would not fit in there...had to brine it in a cooler that year...
