I find myself wondering how one discovers the taste of dirty socks?

I have never thought about the opposite of super tasters. that is an interesting eyeopener. I have a friend who likes his teabag just dipped in the hot water... huh? it literally has no color and he likes it that way. maybe he is a non taster or a super taster. it is offensive to my palate to drink something that only is colored like it should taste like something. blech! and another friend who is a super taster.. its kind of irritating to be honest. you can't feed them anything. there is always commentary about the nuances and too much of this and not enough of that....at least with this person. and to the nth explanation of such... wearying.

Well, carolyn, don't feed them anything! I can leave the heat out of foods for people, but not the flavor. Let them eat their insalted saltine crackers.

I'm not all that into spices either. My wife will throw everything but the kitchen sink in a dish. She put lemon pepper on my bacon one morning. After a "look here sweetie, salt, pepper, that's all I need!" Actually, I have about 5 different spices I use regularly.
Pink Himalayan Salt Black or Red Pepper Onion powder Garlic powder And one more called "Slap Ya Momma"
I don't care for all those mixed up store bought things like Montreal Steak either. I've never been to Montreal and if that's what they put on steak, I don't want one.
Steak very simple. Cast Iron pan, high heat, seir steak, garlic salt, pepper, butter, cook till done. Booya!
I'm very particular on the way my food is prepared. Not really, I mean, I'll eat it any ol way, I just prefer it my way.

The above is me joking around. Those are my main spices, but I eat other stuff. Not lemon pepper, but I'm sure there are spices I like.
I ain't never had curry, but I've smelled it and I'm positive I wouldn't like it.
I also draw a line at fish stew. I like Fish grilled or fried. Not boiled.
My Sister eats Vietnamese food. Ummm no thank you. I draw the line at food that's been left out to rot.
She also eats wasabi. Ummm no thank you.
My Sister eats waaaay different from me. She served me something one time called roundup salad. Oh wait till you get a load of this. She chopped up romaine lettuce, added sliced onion, black olives, Fritos, ranch style beans, & shredded cheese. I watched her make this. I kept giving my wife the stink eye. I looked over at her poor husband and nodded, he knew what I meant, he shrugged. Since no one would take the initiative, I decided to keep quiet too. I let the peasants eat it and made an excuse to go to town.

Oh Dear, it appears I'm not perfect. I forgot that I like Mexican, Italian and Cajun food and they are spicy. So there!

I'll will say I don't like certain area specific food. Take chili for instance, to make a good chili, you need chili pepper and cumin. But since Toast is not served with Chili, you can leave the cinnamon in the jar.
Vinegar has no business near BBQ. This is Texas, we don't like vinegar mopped on our food.

I like a lot of things, most things, arugula and cilantro are two I don't like so well. I thought arugula was ok until I grew some. But different strains may be different. Either is OK in combination with other things. I do like some hot things, like hot salsa an chips. A lot of fresh greens are not all that good flavored, but I know how good they are for me. So the blender and some concentrated pineapple or orange juice makes them much more palatable.
