Very cute, Erwin. Caspers are indeed very prolific - with good growing conditions, that is. Mine were a bust this year. Between the cold wet spring and the hot dry summer, they really suffered.

There's some variation, but mine average about 6" in length and about 2" across.

I have heard these are not as bitter as the purple-although the only bitter purples I pick are usually bitter because they've been on the vine too long. I don't like those little Jap. eggplant-this sounds like a good size. Next year I may try these. My Black Beauties are still prolifically chugging along.

Hi DLD,
I don't have a exact recipe but what we do is, we grill the eggplants then remove the skin then dip the eggplant to the whisked egg with salt n pepper and then fry it until the egg coating is cooked.
