Well, garlic scrapes that is, I need to get them cut, but I won't need them for a few days, so is there a way of storing them a few days without harming them?

They store very well. You can just put them in a bag in the produce drawer or put them in a glass of water like flowers/herbs. I have kept them in a bag in the fridge for a good 2 weeks. They also can be chopped up and frozen.

Indoors and out of direct sunlight scapes will keep for a month or more.
They are tiny and like any bulbil will dry out (or sprout) over time.

Letting the scapes get big enough to be tough takes energy away from the cloves. You should be able to snap them off the plant with your fingers. I love the scapes as a substitute for green beans... sauteed in butter and olive oil with a little toasted ground almond.
