Do you shmear it on before you cook it or after, and do you like keeping some for dippin?

I only use it for dipping if I am cooking for myself. If I am cooking for others, I glaze it on, then have some for pouring as well. I believe good BBQ does not need sauce, although it might taste great with some sauce.

bf loads it on while cooking then burns the crap outa it. So I prefer it on the side for a dip so I can actually eat the food.

I add the sauce only during the last few minutes of bbqing so it doesn't burn too much.
