I just noticed my tomatoes are looking sick. They haven't been in the ground for very long. I'm not even half-way through planting yet. Here's a pic of two varieties of PL where the leaves are getting an unusual look and drying on the edge. I looked in the Tomato Problem Solver and the pictures don't look like that. These are older leaves. I dug the hole, set the plant in, covered with some soil, added a little 4-3-2 organic fertilizer and filled the hole in the rest of the way. They're in tomato cages and mulched with fresh, dry wheat straw. Lately, I dug in Sphagnum Peat Moss in my sandy soil. Maybe something on the straw? Chemical drift from neighbors on the windy days we've been having? Acid rain from the trace we received in the night? I didn't notice this yesterday. Thanks. Crossposted

I don't claim to know everything but, it looks like sunburn and slug damage to me...

I agree, looks like sun scald or possibly wind burn to me as opposed to a disease.
Something has been eating on the leaves, but I'm not familiar with the bite pattern.

Thanks! I'm sure that's it. The plants will outgrow it and be just fine. Sure had me going... My plants didn't have much sun when I was hardening them off and we went into the heat. On the weekend, we had a couple 90F(32.2C) days with a strong wind beating them, followed by a windy 85F(29.4C) day. They have sunburn and windburn! I can see a tan line on the leaf on the left. I noticed a couple Cosmos had sunburn and these symptoms went right over my head. I need to get more sleep... Some of the leaf damage is caused by Tortoise Shell Beetle, I'm pretty sure. Here he is the other year- Again, thanks a lot.
