After a little consideration and some discussion with the powers that be at this place, we now have an experimental forum to discuss cooking outdoors and brewing beer. A couple of my interests along with pretending to be a gardener.
My hope is that a lot of us have as a passion not only growing food, but, cooking and eating it as well. Many forums have cooking sections, I thought we would test out if this subject area has a place here.
Please feel free to take this forum wherever it feels right for you, within the idea that we are talking cooking outdoors. My ideal would be that it ultimately integrates gardening, cooking and enjoying the gardens bounty. Anyone grow hops?

Great idea! After a 'hard day' in the garden during the growing season, what better way to wind down than tending the grill with a cold brewski in your hand is there? I am looking forward to learning, and contributing. Having grown up in SoCal, a BBQ was a traditional way to end a warm summer's day.

Landarc, I've enjoyed reading your blog about these subjects. I'm glad to see an expansion here, and hope to learn more.
I plan to grow hops, but need to develop a serious area and trellis or pole system first.

I might suggest a forum for animals as in livestock because I believe they go hand in hand with growing one's food as in chickens, pigs, goats etc.

Even with a 'reload', it is coming as "the 4 legged family". There is a big difference between between family members, and food. We normally do not "name" meat animals for a reason... O.K., I may name my male hog "Hamilcar Barca" (Hannibal's father) for a reason, but I can easily change it to "HAM"
