We've just had two more warm days.
Monday was 47F and on the dark side. I got out for 5km of walking and it felt great. Even cleaned out some junk in the front seat of my car.
Tuesday was around 42F and wet. Got rained on when I walked to get the mail. I didn't melt. Managed to get another 5km on my old feet today. The winter wheat cover crop is greening up and growing a little. After 10pm, it's still 41.5F. The cold front is right over us, so we can kiss the above-average temps goodbye.
I'm dreaming of a green Christmas...

It's sunny (finally!) here, temps about avg. (low 40s for a high), but the latest forecast gives rain, and a high of 64° for Christmas eve day. I think that's a bit above average! LOL

At noon, we're at the freezing mark and it's grey out. We're due for a warm-up before Christmas with some rain on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday. There's about 1/2" of snow out there. It MAY be replaced on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
Happy Winter Solstice!

Foggy...it has been overcast all day and we are expecting rain for the next two days. But it's forecast to clear out on Christmas Eve in the afternoon and evening, and be clear and cool for Christmas Day. Just the way I like it!

On Christmas Eve day, we've been getting lots of rain. Earlier, the temperature was over 40F. The ground is bare again and my winter wheat cover crop looks really cool. We're under a Winter Weather Advisory and may get three inches of heavy snow tonight.

At 7.30pm on Christmas Eve, the rain turned to big snowflakes and we ended up with ~1/2 inch. We had a warm Christmas Day in the high 30s. Friday was over 40F and Saturday we hit 48F! The ground is bare again, and after midnight we're still at 34F. We're due for some cold weather.

Monday we stayed below freezing all day, although the sun was out for once. 29F was as warm as we got with a cold breeze. The ground is still bare. I got out for two miles of walks bringing my 2014 total mileage on my feet to 535 miles. At 12.30am, we're at 18F.

And the next to last day of the year finds us in the low 30's while spitting a mix of drizzle, sleet, and snow. Where's the sun?

New Year's Day got up around the freezing mark. When I was out walking, it was 29F with quite strong gusts of wind. I saw a Harley with a sidecar drive through town. The driver was wearing a stocking hat (no helmet) and the passenger was a skeleton wearing a Santa Claus hat. I'm not kidding...

Overcast, again. Blech.
But it looks like proper winter weather will return next week. The current forecast is for sunny skies, highs in the 50s, and lows in the 20s and 30s midweek.

Winter hitting us with a vengeance. A little snow line coming up from Kansas, maybe an inch or 2. An icy North Pole blast in from the northwest with 25 mph winds and below zero temps for 25 degree below zero wind chills. Winter's coming.

We woke up today to our first real snow of the season. When I went to bed last night the ground was bare. In the daytime, I did a little shoveling and swept my car off. I went back out tonight and shoveled so the birds can eat in the morning. Swept my car off again and took some snow depth measurements. We got 6" of a heavy snow.
Currently, we're at the freezing mark and we may get more snow tomorrow. The temperature will stay steady through tonight. THEN, the bottom falls out for us, too. The temp drops to 2F tomorrow night and below zero Wednesday night. Can cabin fever be getting near?

Sunday we got up to 37F with the sun peaking out now-and-then. I saw some bees flying around by my beehive at Mom's while I was walking behind the snowblower for 3 1/2 hours or so. When I was done, the temperature had dropped to 23F.
Headed to my joint and shoveled the sidewalk, etc. until 6p where the temp was 21F.
After midnight, we're down to 9F and it looks to be a really cold week. Winter's here.

Winter is here as well. Light frosts the last two nights, and there will probably be frost again overnight tonight. But tomorrow night's forecast is 23F. Not a record, but plenty cold for a Florida girl.

Sunday we had a warm day. Finally got up to the freezing mark. I got out for 5km of walking. I did a little light shoveling, too. More real cold weather on tap for this week.

It's warm here for wintertime, but gray and muggy and sticky. Again. It's been such a gray winter that I feel ridiculously grateful for the occasional sunny days. (Hopefully we will get a few this weekend.)
I'd rather have more of the cold fronts push all the way through. It would be cold, but at least we would have clear skies!
I really feel for all the PNW folks for whom gray winters are apparently normal. Blech!

Our high for the day(actually for the past week)was 43 degrees at 4am this morning. We've been slipping lower ever since. We are expected to have "frozen drizzle",a new one for me as far as name goes, for the afternoon and evening. I miss the Sun!
