They need the spam police... It used to be a great forum back in the day, but so many have left there never to return... sad

Yes Richard, someone needs to get a handle on that problem. If they cannot control the spam any better than that, it makes me wander how safe the site is.

It has been at least four years since I stopped even visiting iDig, one of the most contentious forums on the net. With so many good folks in the forums I visit why subject myself to the stress of even reading what goes on there. That forum has no guidance. There is one other I have quit visiting for the same reasons. Thank goodness we have NJT and TV and another couple.

had they kept the forum totally lawless I think it would have been better, but now it is a mix of lawless and harsh enforcement of people that the moderators just don't like, it is to the point that people can't talk gardening there without having issues, I know at least one person that gave up on gardening forums entirely from the mess on iDig

I don't go back there either. I used to love that place!! But to much arguments in there. I have alot of people I know from there on FB. Have made some great friends there. But I couldn't take the arguments. I like it here and Pharmer Phills and Rednecks place. These are my 3 favs. Altho this year I have no garden.

Altho this year I have no garden. how can you do that ? are you going through withdrawal ? I don't think I could manage no garden for a year, I would go plant something at some point, even when I lived on a boat I had a pot with potatoes in it, the other boat people thought that I was just nuts

I'm pretty much turned off by the political fighting, and it's sometimes simply not a civil place. At least I got directions to here from there.

And since they have knocked out the off-food politics, it has toned down, said me. Who has kept even POF shut off on I-Dig for the past few years.

Several months ago IDig banned my IP address. I have no clue why - they didn't even do me the courtesy of sending me an email notification message. I just tried to log in one day and saw a message to the effect of, "Your IP address has been banned. Contact a forum administrator for more information." I didn't get into arguments, post advertisements, or break any other rules. I considered contacting them to see why I was banned and then decided I am probably better off without that particular forum. I spend plenty of time on gardening forums even without IDig.
I did get some good info there, and there are some nice people over there that I respect. But when I was there, there were some individuals who just could not see any posts from certain other individuals without picking a fight - and not just in the PoF forum. It just got old.
I much prefer the drama-free, friendly, and helpful atmosphere here.

I started out on IDig - there are some great people there but the spam alone made me go looking for another forum. I'm also on T'ville but don't post too much there. Like elliemater I'm enjoying friendlier waters elsewhere! I'm always glad when I see a familiar name in one of the forums I now frequent!

The land is still there for us...maybe a bit weedy, that's all. I hope his surgery and recovery goes extremely well.

Been a member of the 'ville since 2006. Not privy to who has been or not been banned or for the reasons why, but those who have had publicity about being banned (from discussions in other forums), for the most part deserved it because the plainly stated rules were ignored. As to being banned before a first post, that is a puzzler. Ellie gives no indication of being a rule-breaker. It is great to have several choices and find the place that is comfortable.
I visit several spots, but my membership is here and there. I only wish I were more of a poster. When I have something to contribute, I do, but I am pretty boring and do better at listening (reading). Maybe it's the time of year...or maybe it's the time of man.

Sending our prayers to y'all... and wish for his speedy recovery! Thanks! It's his gall bladder! I havn't been on here lately because of him being on medical leave and I have a friend in the hosp, her husband in re-hab. Alot for me to do! So visiting and taking care of things! But can take all the prayers anyone sends!! Thanks everyone!

Best wishes for his surgery. My son #2 had his gallbladder out last year. It's really helped him, and I hope your husband does well, too.

TY Laura! I'm gunna see if this simple tagging works You know there are a few people in Idig I would of liked to of kept as closer friends, But even after they changed politics of food to just politics of food. There is always some people no matter what you say , they have to argue with you. I'm a lover not a fighter. It even spilled over into FB a bit. So had to un friend someone. I don't need negativity I want positive people in my life, not drama! Life is full of unexpected drama on it's own. I don't need help with people. If I'm wrong on something " I'm sure rarely happens" <---- LOL Just correct me don't have to bash me or be mean about it. I think when typing you have to choose your words carefully or sometimes it can be taken very wrong. Anyhoo!! Don't worry be happy! Laura_in_FL

I visit several spots, but my membership is here and there. I only wish I were more of a poster. When I have something to contribute, I do, but I am pretty boring and do better at listening (reading). Maybe it's the time of year...or maybe it's the time of man. The specific reason was that a person who I guess shared bad feelings with the person who runs T'ville had made a post on TD using pirate terms. I was so stupid that I didn't read the content of that post, which apparently had offended or said or hinted something not nice to the admin of T-ville. I responded, "Har!" and had a pirate emoticon. I was in the Navy. I was just responding to the fun of the pirate terms. So this caused anger and offense and when I asked another member why I couldn't log on anymore (not even understanding what banning was, I had never been on a forum before) he was told by the admin that I was a bad person who spread lies about him (the admin).
So it was my own stupid fault. I don't even know this person who was offended...why would I try to say mean things or spread any lies? I feel very bad that my "Har!" and pirate emoticon were interpreted this way, it was not intended.
I do feel bad for the owner of the Neuticals site though, as his site is being used to punish those who have offended. If I try to read something from Google that is on T'villes site I am routed to Neuticals.
Oh well. Nothing to do about it now. Live and learn.

elliemater, If you really need to go there, you can do a search at startpage.com/. Out of the results, click View by Ixquick Proxy to surf without looking over your shoulder. Neuticles. Sounds like a classic case of projection right out of Psychology 211, lol.

Well you can tell I am blonde because the first thing that came to my mind was, "How did they know that I just had my little dog neutered?" (He was making unholy advances to his sister.) hahahaha!

Ellie, You can be responsible for what you write but you don't have to be responsible for the way others misinterpret it.
