I have 2 little plants of the above variety. The fruits are small - green at first but one has now turned orange.
Anyway, green or orange, they are as dense and crunchy as an apple, if not more so. Not complaining, I've just never eaten this kind of pepper before.
Is this normal, or did something go wrong. The peppers have a mild taste, not that stinging, metallic taste that some have.

High dry weight and good flavor and color sound like great attributes for processing. Try roasting and canning or freezing a few. A pepper that doesn't turn to mush on cooking is good for salsa too.
How was your overall yield? I had a few plants with fruit like that show up in an f3 growout of an f1 that I like. I'll be growing those f4 seeds, though it might be a new bee cross with doe hill, alma paprika, or tennesee cheese all of which I grew last year.

There's quite a few fruits on such small plants. At least the plants are small for me. We've had funny weather and who knows how it affects something that you have not grown before, and nothing to go by. Isn't growing your own hybrids fun, even accidental ones? 8-)You never know what's going to show up! I'm having fun with some winter squash.

yes, i have lots of random out crosses in the pepper patch, many better than their parent, though some have little appeal. Perhaps one day, nothing i plant will be a named variety, at least in the pepper genre.
I have also seen that in peppers I got from small vendors, things aren't always true to type. That's not always as much fun.
the warm wave of weather this week has extended to harvest for good summer vegetables, tomatoes especially.
