I have tried most of the "Blacks" at one time or another. Black Krim was one of the first tried maybe fifteen years ago and I have grown it several times since. It was not very good the first few times, but I kept hoping it would get better. For me the flavor was pretty average and the size fruit was too small. I think you either like it or not; I am in the not group. For me there are several very good blacks, but not the Black Krim.

I agree with Paul on taste and it also splits or cracks if you get a lot of rain. My favorite dark tomato right now is Cherokee Purple. Iv'e got seeds for JDs Special CTex, but I forgot to start the seeds this winter. I will try it next year, hopefully.

CP has been a favorite since Craig sent me seeds what seems to be a lifetime ago. Not may years without it in the garden. Carbon is among the best for me.

This has to be at or near the top of my personal favorites...not pretty tomatoes, but so delicious for eating fresh or for sauce

I only grew them once, due to problems with splitting and disease issues. Good flavor, but not worth growing again, in my location.

I like it, another purple tomato that doesn't produce for me but good-tasting. The fruit tends to crack at the top in concentric rings (cannot remember what that is called). It outlasted my other medium size tomatoes, in what was a down year.

I also only grew it once. Very disease prone in my garden. Fruit was small and full of seeds with lots of cracking.

I have had good luck with it so far, tasty and healthy. But YMMV, all gardens are different.
