I know I've seen this variety mentioned here on NJT, so I thought it would be nice to set up a review thread where we can all put our thoughts on Kandy Korn in one place. So, if you've grown it (or eaten it), let's hear what you think!

Ooooo... have grown it, eaten it, and still have some in the freezer... Now I think it's supposed to be like 90 days to maturity, but we were picking fresh, ripe corn in like 80 days, and grew only like 6ft. tall, and 2 ears on most stalks... we give it a 8 1/2 on taste because it is a (SE)sugar enhanced corn, but we have had sweeter.

Kandy Korn is the oldest released EH variety. I grew it back in the late 1970's. It is decent sweet corn, but some other varieties are a tad better. The best I recall, it is an SU X SE which produces 1/4 of the kernels with double sugar.
"Kandy Korn EH (H75201-51) - Breeder and vendor: Charter Research. Characteristics: F1 hybrid, red stalk and husk with green background when snapped, tender pericarp, high sugar content, pleasant to taste, remains edible in processing stage for up to 2 weeks longer than normal. Adaptation: wide. 1977."
