I grew...rather tried to grow...this as a fall cuke. "Fall" means I have to plant while it is still hot in order to get a harvest before frost. These sprouted weakly and were sickly and just died on me without making any fruit.
I might try them again as a spring cuke sometime if I happen to get more seed (the ones I planted were seed I got in a trade). Maybe they would do better if they sprouted and got some size before they had to handle the heat.

Does great here, or course. Usually end up growing it about every other year just to return to what I want in a prolific pickler. Perfect for both small pickles and spears. It's one of those old varieties which have been hard to beat over many years of trying.
