I grew three new okras in 2015 - all spineless. Two I didn't get much off of at all, while one grew almost too fast, and eventually, I just wasn't picking it enough!
Evertender - This one didn't produce well at all. The okra from these plants looked like some mutated pepper, not an okra, being fat and twisted, and eventually died from something, like many others have in the past.
Jambalaya - Not bad at first, but fibrous, even when small (4").
Burmese - This is the one that I couldn't pick fast enough! While descriptions have stated that it is still tender @8-10", the fibers start forming around 6", in my experience, and it reminded me of some pole beans that need to be picked twice a day, otherwise they get strings. The plants got HUGE - I had to trim them when they were close to where I couldn't reach them (and I'm 6'6"!), and the stalks were over 2" thick.
Any suggestions for some varieties, maybe more moderate growers than that Burmese?

6'6"...my neck hurts at the thought of ever meeting you in person. But on topic, have you ever tried Emerald? It makes green, slender long pods that can get pretty long without becoming tough. Mine got to around 6' tall - so stepladder height for me but an easy reach for you - and were productive. It is my favorite of the varieties I have grown so far.

Thanks Laura - I'll have to try that.
