The Great Plains tomato harvest begins. Last week the cherries started, Black Cherry, Ambrosia Red and Pearly Pink. Yesterday and today the larger tomatoes began: Daniel Burson, Marianna's Peace, Tsar Kolokol, Ludmilla's Pink Oxheart, Kellogg's Breakfast, Blue Ridge Mountain, India, Ernesto, Carbon and a few peppers. Not being eaten are the last of the store bought in the background.

Three days left in July. 80+ varieties, and haven't even brought a cherry tomato into the house. A 3" Dwarf Ondraszak was red a few days ago but was off the vine and ripened on the ground. Hate to admit that such a tasteless thing could become the best one of the season but that's only because it was the first. Last year, already had some salad types ripe on 2 July.

Nice haul, Paul! So far I've had only the early smaller ones, like three versions of Stupice/Stupicke, Early Annie, 0-34, a few from my current Acey dwarf project F2/F3's and a few samples of most of the cherries. My earliest was Anmore Treasures which was really loaded for such a small container plant.
Of the bigger tomatoes, a few Mat-Su Express (delicious!) a single Maria Amazileiti, and a Russian name - I can't think of the two word name/spelling at the moment. I just returned from a week away, plants look good though it hasn't rained since we left in a thunderstorm and I am now going out to water!

Every year I manage to grow a new true BLT giant. Two years ago it was Dester. Last year was Red Giant Banat. This year it's Happy. Close behind is a yellow mutant of Jeff Davis and Apricot Brandywine.
