Is a Peruvian Chili pepper and is a key ingredient in a new barbecue rub that I ordered. Anybody( pepperhead212) have any experience with it? Baker's Creek doesn't seem to carry the seed but it is to late to start for this year anyway.

Can't answer your question, but if you are going to make you some homemade rubs, I'd recommend you grow some lemon peppers. They have heat with citrus aftertones. They are the ones I tried out in the garden and then had to rub my tongue in the dirt.

I've yet to taste this one, I think. Last year my plants didn't produce fruit, and the year before they didn't germinate. I think I need new seed, but I might have some for this year. I have yet to make my pepper lists... I better get on that!

It's been years since I grew Aji Amarillo, and I only grew it once, as it was devastated by pepper maggots. That was before I came up with the cover solution, so this season I am trying another one - aji rico. It is supposed to be earlier, and larger, so I'll see how it goes.
