Does garlic loose it's flavor and heat when frozen?

I just pulled a clove out of the freezer that had been in there since December. Chewed it up...Seems to be a bit milder than when fresh, but if I hadn't of frozen it (or dried it) it would have gone bad by now. That variety (Klaver) doesn't store well. I also ate a clove from another variety (Chesnok) grown/harvested at the same time as the Klaver but stored sitting in the laundry room (room temp) over winter and the Chesonk has retained quite a bit of flavor and heat, maybe not as much as it had months ago, but still pretty close.

Sometimes I can get a good price on a large bag of garlic--like fifty or sixty heads. I roast them, wrap them in foil bundles of six heads a parcket, and inti the freezer they go. Roasted garlic will keep well for months in the freezer if it's wrapped well in foil, and also, you need to put those foil packets into plastic zip-loc bags to keep the scent from the rest of the freezer.

Garlic flavored icecream doesn't seem all that appealing to me...
