Not concerned about beautiful perfect grass... My yard is wood chipped and I have a few grass strips... The grass strip out front looked ok til grubs took over and destroyed lots of the grass...It was looking nasty... The clover in the strip looked fine so I aerated the strip, scratched up the bare soil areas and planted clover seeds... We're to have a warm spell this week so hopefully that will give the seeds a good start...

I planted clover to fix large dirt patches that were left by a renter, it seemed to wait and come up when the weather was correct for it.

I'm growing red and yellow clover as a cover crop/green mulch in my flowerbed, this year. Never tried it before. We'll see how it goes! What type of clover are you growing? Is closer known for being particularly grub-resistant?

One of my favorite things is to walk through the lawn barefoot on a summer day when the clover is blooming. The clover feels so light and gentle to walk on, and releases a glorious fragrance as you go.
Though, one does need to watch for bees, as it's a favorite of theirs! A bee sting on the bottom of the foot isn't very fun.

I planted some white clover as far away from my garden as possibble, to hopefully attract the rabbits over there. They do like clover, and anything that I plant, so it has to attract them!

I planted red clover as a cover crop one year and lived to regret it. It showed up in the garden for years. Never thought about putting it on our hill where grass barely grows. Good idea.

Sounds really pretty. Grass is boring.

Mom and I worked with this ol' gal back in the day. She and her hubby built a new house and she was nagging him about planting grass. He went and bought some wheat and sowed it around the yard. Very thick nice grass for a little while.
Laughing!!!!
They darned near got divorced over it. Everytime we pass by their place me and Mom laugh! My wife got curious one day and asked why we always start laughing as we pass by. We had to tell her the story.

I planted White Dutch Clover caesg ... I also have seeds of Miniclover...a white clover...I'm going to scatter some of them in that grass strip as well...can't hurt...going to do that tomorrow... I don't know if clover is grub resistant...I've just observed that the clover remains unscathed right next to the killed grass... So I'm just going on assumption...

Clover is a good cover and green manure crop. I planted it in the middles of some of my sweet corn rows.
