I just found a neat little knife. I was visiting a buddy of mine and noticed the knife he was using in the kitchen. It peaked my curiosity so I asked him about it. It's made by Victorinox. The same company that makes Swiss Army Knives. After looking it over and handling it, I came home and ordered a dozen of them in all sorts of colors. It's one heck of a tader peeler, but this little fellow would be a nifty garden tool for gathering Orka, Squash, etc.
I gave my Mom a couple, I put a couple in our kitchen, my tackle box, my desk drawer, etc.
of course I admit to being a bit of a knife nut, which if you saw my collection of knives you'd ask yourself why so many. I dunno really. I've been a collector since grade school.
When I learned blacksmithing, it was knives that peaked my interest.
I bought these paring knives pretty cheap at 6.99 each. For a stainless, Swiss made knife that takes a razor edge, I felt it was a good bargain.
The dollar tree tree sells a cheap China made knife that resembles it, but it's about as sharp as a butter knife.
If interested look it up on Amazon or EBay.

Best one we ever had had a blade like that. Can't recall why the handle broke but it was just as good after that. Missing handle was replaced with deer antler. Actually fit my hand better than the original.

I use mine in the garden to cut zucchini, too. They are handy to have and not stress over the cost of them.

I was given a Victorinox small knife like that about 20 years ago. I still have it, and it's still sharp. Mine has a red handle, but is straighter than the one in the photo. I also have an almost identical one made by Henkel, which seems just as good. In fact, just this afternoon, I was using the Henkels to core persimmons for dehydrating. Handy little knives.

I have a bunch of paring knives in my kitchen, as well as a couple I usually keep outside, for garden use. I have 3 of those 4" ones from Victorinox, plus a 4" serrated (got this to cut frozen cookie dough with, but only did so-so), and a bird's beak of theirs. This BB didn't stay very sharp, however, compared to some cheap ones I have, and none of the paring knives stay sharp as long as my better knives. This is expected, since I don't baby them, and put them in the DW, which I don't do with the rest of my knives, even if they say you can. And I just re-sharpen when needed.

As I said, I have a bunch of them. And probably two more outside. Paring knives... probably not all of them. by pepperhead212, on Flickr I remember when I made that knife block, to hold all of the knives I would keep, after getting rid of a bunch that I rarely used, I put 8 slots in the lower part, to hold paring knives, even though I did have that many then. So much for that!

My favorite paring is still a Zelite Infinity parer. Sharpens easily, stays sharp, and just handles beautifully. You can find a review on it here
