I don't have my list made yet. We use a LOT of peppers so I am working on a list. BUT I am jealous of your Peter peppers!! I so badly wanted to buy seeds and grow them for my brother but my husband won't let me.

Personally, I would have considered that a "beg for forgiveness rather than ask for permission" situation. Unless maybe you planned to grow them in a pot on the front porch. I have a week or two before I sow, so I have that long to make my final decisions about which peppers to grow. Some years I can sit down in advance and make a lovely plan on paper with careful consideration of colors, flavors, eventual plant sizes, and everything else. Other years I make my final pepper planting decisions when I am sitting in front of a bunch of cells filled with seed starting mix, with all of my packets of seed spread out in front of me. I suspect that this will be one of those years! But my planting will be heavy on the bell peppers this year.

I like the way you think

I am still figuring out if I can plant all three types of jalapeños. So far I am limited to two types if I am going to save seeds. One type might have to wait until next year. On the sweet front it will be Red Marconi again. It’s hard to argue with a pepper that you were still picking on Christmas Day. I might have to say no more habaneros for a few years. It was funny when my nephews father in law ate a Chocolate Habanero after my Dad repeated my warning “You eat that, you die!”.

mgulfcoastguy, where do you get your Red Marconi seed? I tried to grow it from store bought seeds at least twice in the past, but I got absolutely no germination.

I buy my seeds from rare seeds.com which is Baker’s Creek’s online site. I do start mine over a heat mat in about two weeks from now. I have never a problem with germination. Delivery is a different issue. They ship from Missouri using DHL, through to Georgia, then back to Alabama where it goes right into the regular US Mail. About an 8 day cycle where dropping it in the regular mail would have it here in 3 days max. It does eventually get her and currently shipping is free.

I always use a heat mat for starting peppers from seed because when I didn't use the heat mat I got zero germination

Spike, I think I have seeds for both the red peter pepper and the yellow peter pepper, can send them with the Ha'Ogen seed if you would like a few of them.
I usually get an order from BC in 3 days via regular mail, how odd they ship that way to you, mgulfcoastguy.

If I can find which white mound is the stack of 6-packs, plan to start the hot ones for this year. They will be:
Bulgarian Carrot Carolina Reaper Picantye Calabrese Rain Forest Tricolor
More than enough heat there for me. I can get many different sweet ones from Jung's rather than starting them.
Martin
The truth is more important than the facts.

Carolina Reaper should provide more than enough heat all by itself!

I so badly wanted to buy seeds and grow them for my brother but my husband won't let me. huh? won't let you?... then get the seeds and grow the plants and give him a plant to grow himself. call it the "wee willie" or some such innocuous name. anyway, I grow lots of pepper plants but not all the plants do I plant in my garden. I am trying "rewia" from bakercreek cal. wonder jupiter monster bell grimes monster bell romanian hot block hungarian hot banana jalapeno sunbright poblano jimmy nardello giant aconcagua cajun belle f1 snd f2 habanada ghost orange blaze yummy orange pendant big bertha (which I believe is the same as grimes monster bell) and probably a bunch more plus seeds for other people/ once is a korean pepper for a neighbor. she just has it labled "spicy" its a little pepper and its spicy. about 10 for another customer.

These are the ones I've started and are now in the ground or in pots with a few close to ripe. It's been so cool here, the weather is slowing them down.
Quite a few new ones. I prefer mild heat, but will grow some hot ones (not super hots) to use in broths and stews and making powders. I also want to try to make some fermented sauces this year. I still have some made powders left, but am running low and am out of raw materials to make them, so, come on peppers! Well, almost out. I still have some old dry serranos and habs 'in case'.
In no order:
red marconi Numex Joe E. Parkers (many of these to flame roast - a staple) cayenne - 2 varieties jalapeno Habs, both 'no heat' and hot Aji limon Aji fantasy Sugar rush peach Mara (soemthing) mirsh Aura small chocolate bell (impulse buy from Johnny's cuz it was cute) And a couple more.
I have 5 seeds of Aleppo I had intended to sow, but they fell through the cracks. I'm thinking of doing that now. It's 'only' July.
