Didn't know where else to post this... It's just something stupid... I needed a couple cleats to hold the cords in place for two pleated shades that are reluctant to stay in place on their own...Shades are fine otherwise... The cleats I have in my stash were too big for this...And I really didn't want to make holes in the walls for something simple like that anyway...I thought I had to have something around here... Those 'Command Hooks'!... I have, in the stash, small clear ones which were the perfect size for this...placed one above the other, spaced apart just a little bit, opposed the hooks, one up, one down... Instant 'invisible' cleats...no holes...yay... ~~~ Please feel free to post any of your ingenious ideas, hints and tweaks to things here...

Those Command hooks are great, and there are many sizes and weight ratings for almost every need. They come in various colors and styles, too, but every one I have seen is still obviously plastic. So it is better to think of the various the colors and styles as means to prevent your Command hooks from sticking out like a sore thumb; they are not attractive enough to use as part of your decor.
One annoying little issue I had was storing my computer headset - my desk is tiny so I didn't want to set it on top of the desk, and obviously I didn't want to leave it on the floor to get stepped on. So I stuck a command hook on the side of my computer case (it's a mini-tower case) and now I hang the headset neatly on the side of the computer.
We also used Command hooks on the drip edge of our roof to string Christmas lights. (We used stronger, outdoor-rated Command hooks; we found ours at Sam's Club right next to the Christmas lights.) They work a lot more reliably than those plastic clips they sell for attaching your lights. They are almost unnoticeable hanging up there by themselves. So we can leave them up year after year. Of course, we had to have a lot of the drip edge replaced due to storm damage, so DH is going to have to put up new Command hooks this year if we want to hang Christmas lights on the house.

cant turn on the faucet in the laundry room because of wet hands? twist a rubber band around the knob for a grip. or a silicone band works too.

Oh... squish the toilet paper roll so it won't spin on the dispenser. this is a paper save for those who have children who pull way too much off the roll.

pepperhead212 ...Here it is... Each piece is a tad over an inch... And this is all obscured by another curtain hanging above...

Use hand pruners to cut your garden hose when you need to make a repair. the curved blade cradles the hose and the blade is more suited to cutting the material better than scissors or a knife.

Command hooks are great for almost everything except the combination of humidity and extreme heat or cold. We used them to hold up the window shades in our van. But once the temps hit over 80 in there or below 65, I end up waking up with one, sometimes two blinds on my head. Santa brought some "Extreme" tape for 2019 camping season.

I saw a good use for those flat plastic tag ties on bread bags.
You can use then to label the wires when you have several items plugged into a surge protector like I do at my computer. Sometimes I need to unplug one of them to reboot the cable box or something and it's a guessing game to figure out which one it is.

Wrap a rubberband around the laundry detergent lid to make opening it easier. too.
Use jet dry to make a window wash solution. streak free and dries instantly every time. just a few drops of jet dry in the spray bottle filled with water. cheap and easy.

Spider (or bug bite) remedy: baking soda mixed with coconut oil and plastered on. wrap with vet wrap or a gauze roll bandaid to keep it in place. leave it on as long as you can. the coconut oil is a binder so it doesn't fall off and litter your baking soda all over the place as it dries. I had a spider bite on my calf a few years ago and it was painful and itchy. this worked like a charm.

When you need to remove sausage from its casings, wet your hands first...The meat and fat won't stick to you...

fat won't stick to you... LIES!! I walk past the candy isle and gain 10 pounds of fat >,< thank you Spike. I had a really stressful Fall and gained 10 pounds I think. maybe if I had kept my hands wet I wouldn't have had any fat stick to me?

to make a garden measuring stick use your hoe handle. make marks starting on the handle at the top end. Use tape or a permanent marker or paint which would be best, but start at 12" 15",18", 20", 24", 30",36" and if you use 4' for a row spacing. your hoe is probably 5" but make sure and you can use this measurement if you remember it. this eliminates a measuring tape while in the garden. add a coat of varnish to make it impervious to rubbing it off.

I just use one of the free 24' measuring tapes I get at Harbor Freight. And a trick I use when planting many things is to plant on the 5 or 10 marks - close enough to the foot and half foot markers and much faster.
