BBQ is more a pork than a beef thing in my area...but that brisket looks mighty tasty.

Brisket is mainly a Texas thing. Texas purists also only use salt and pepper. My grill is too small to do a whole brisket but I will bookmark it in case I ever upgrade.

I didn't realize brisket was just a Texas thing. Some of those purist get on my nerves. Same way with bean , no bean chili. cook it, if it tastes good, eat it. If not, throw it to the chickens! dont get me started with the Steak purist. I'm not a purist. I eat cause I like to eat. I'll try it if it looks good. I do like brisket, but I like chicken, Porkchop, Ribs, Turkey, etc just as well. i like most anything Smoked, Grilled or BBQ'd.

Not just Texas but a far higher percentage there. In the green egg forum brisket camp is in Louisiana and butt blast is in North Carolina. Tritip is usually west coast , smoking fish is Gulf Coast and North West US. I am not a purist and actually try to avoid “the usual “

Brisket is mainly a Texas thing. That's interesting. The only time I ever ate Bar-B-Q beef brisket was 30 years ago when I visited my friends in Texas. It was really good but I have not thought about it since then.

I enjoy smoking brisket. mgulfcoastguy, if you ever get to Picayune, try Stonewall’s bbq brisket.

I'd rather have pork than beef, but I did have tasty brisket in a bbq joint last summer!
