This is very similar to the old tattered recipe I have. A few additions to make them the same are: 1/4 cup walnuts toasted for 5 minutes on a baking sheet in 350F oven. Add to mincemeat mixture and use as garnish on top. 4 tangerine or clementine segments chopped and added to mincemeat 1/4 cup orange brandy or dry sherry to sprinkle on sponge cake. While buying ingredients for my chocolate avocado banana bread I found something else. I found boxes that were dehydrated mincemeat mix. The instructions were to rehydrate two boxes in boiling water to make one pie. It had a recipe for mincemeat cookies using one box, not rehydrated. It did have beef in it.
