guruofgardens, I noticed on another forum that your birthday was yesterday(Oct 26) but this site has it as Dec 12th? In any case, another Coloradoan hopes you had a memorable day and the upcoming snow stays east of the mountains and no further south than Denver...(but I am not holding my breath )

I love birthdays . . . Hubby's was on Oct. 26 . . . He just wants to be remembered without being on the forum, so I put down his birthday as mine. He loves to be remembered here as most of his family 'conveniently' forgets to give him a shout.
My birthday is truly in December.
So I shall let him know he was remembered by gardening family members and he will be ecstatic.
Thanks for the greetings 😊 and for being understanding.
P.S. Hubby just smiled when I told him of his birthday greetings. At least someone cares . . . .

pondgardener,so far our snow totals have been: 7” on Thursday (most melted with the 70* temp on Saturday), 6” yesterday, and the next storm coming tomorrow night. Weird, weird weather for October. 😊 How about south of us? How has the snow been affecting you?

guruofgardens, just got back this afternoon from the Western Slope, as we were trying to avoid some of the nasty weather to come. It looks like we have at least 4-5" inches on the ground, with more coming down. And as I look at the weather map, there is a lot more coming down from Wyoming.

pondgardener, they “say” the storm should end today with warmer weather for the next week. It’s still snowing this AM, but since it’s so cold, it’s just powder for the skiers. We've had 4 storms with snow this month, so hopefully the drought monitor on northern CO will be less than they predicted. I truly was not ready for this cold weather and scrambled to pick green fruit the end of September. I heard people complaining about their frozen plants and saying, “this is not supposed to happen. It’s just not normal.” Maybe this is the NEW normal. Just glad you got home in time to take care of the koi.

ahntjudy, by sheer chance, my son and his wife live in Nederland!! Small world, huh? If you ever visit your niece, please give me a shout. I love their Thai restaurant and visit there almost every time we see the kids and pets, too. And many thanks for the great big birthday hug to my hubby. He's here sitting next to me - I give him a hug - and tell him it's from ahntjudy,. He said WOW! So many birthday wishes this year. You all sure made this year a special one for him.

guruofgardens, after reading that it was actually your spouses birthday, I remembered that Oct 30th is my wife's birthday and I hadn't got her even a card. Took her out in the Jeep for breakfast this morning, dropped her off to read one of her Christmas novels, and after clearing out the rest of the driveway, went out to pick up a card, small cake and her favorite ice cream. And later when she gets up from her nap, I will take her out for dinner and blow at a candle or two tonight with her cake.

I remembered that Oct 30th is my wife's birthday and I hadn't got her even a card "Mud"... Perhaps that would have been your name briefly... Took her out in the Jeep for breakfast this morning, dropped her off to read one of her Christmas novels, and after clearing out the rest of the driveway, went out to pick up a card, small cake and her favorite ice cream. And later, I will take her out for dinner and blow at a candle or two tonight with her cake. Good save... Please tell your dear wife I said {{{HappyBirthday}}} and please give her a {{{GreatBigHug}}}
