I just joined (thanks to daylilydude for the heads up on the new board) and was so excited to see the Q and brew forum that I just had to share something.
This is a sauce I've been making since last Sept. and is my Wife's favorite along with our vodka sauce. We keep track of our keeper experiments in what she calls "The Book of Q". Just a small hardbound journal to be honest. Anywho this is a great sauce that I'm proud to share.
Ingredients
1C 'chup 1/2C cider vingegar 1/4C molases 3/4C apple jelly brown sugar to taste 1/2t dry mustard 1/4t garlic powder 1/4t onion powder 1/4t Frank's hot sauce 1/4t red pepper flakes 1/2t paprika 1/4t cinnamon 3T whiskey I like to use "good bourbon whiskey" but any bourbon will do
Just mix the ingredients and warm slowly on the stove or the Q
My notes say this is an excellent sauce, on the sweet side with a nice apple flavor. The whiskey flavor is "just there" and no more.
Mr's wicker is no whiskey drinker and she loves this one so I'd encourage even those who do no partake of the devine bourbon to give it a try.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your Q and gardening experiences as well as sharing mine. Good Q and gardening to all of you!

Sounds very good. It looks like it has all the essential ingredients. I've never used apple jelly in a sauce. I've always used apricot jam. I like the thought of apple plus whiskey. Will have to try. Thanks!

Thanks! You are welcome! We do some apricot in other sauces too, it works great. We like to make a glaze out of apricot jam and whiskey or apricot brandy and coat hams or loins with it. Tastes great everytime I mind the Q like I should.
