I should also mention that halfway through cooking meats and frozen items, you need to flip over the meat and or shake the basket to get things equally cooked. And there is some experimentation involved that comes about trying to find what works for YOUR air fryer and foods.

Make sweet potato fries. Toss cut sweet potatoes in a little oil then sprinkle with Chinese 5 spice. I think it takes about 20 minutes to cook.

i have an air fryer but I also have potatoes that boil to cooked in 10 min. and ones that only cook with a pressure cooker at 15 min. under double air pressure... the air frier seems to fail at either one. oil at 350F for 7 min. works well no matter what. and the air frier still needs oil to coat everything, so no less messy at all I gave up on it about 4 months after getting it

So far, I like my air fryer much more than the Instant Pot. I don't use much oil for coating, I bought some glass food grade spray bottles, so I can use different flavors of oils (avocado, sesame seed)for lightly spraying before placing items in the cooking basket. I especially like making mixed roasted veggies, because I can put in slower cooking ones like carrots first, and easily add the tender ones like broccoli later in the cooking process.

That sounds good september , I would not recommend the IP for cooking vegetables. I either steam them, roast in the oven or sauté them on the stove top. However I did cook a gigantic sweet potato in the IP and I used it to make sweet potato pie and also mashed sweet potatoes. It would have taken at least 2 hours to bake in the oven but I cooked it in the IP for 40 minutes.

Went ahead and bought a air fryer oven by Instant pot only because I don't have to cook in batches now... lol.
