How is everyone’s onions doing? Here is a shot of my onions in my community garden plot. Leeks and beets are in the foreground. Most of my onions are bulbing up. The three rows on the right are the ones I started from seed in February. They are smaller than the Dixondale onions. I’m growing Copra, Highlander, Sterling, Blush, Stuttgarter, Superstar, and some other red variety.

Your whole garden looks beautiful, organized and well tended.
I like not only getting veggies but having the garden look pretty too and yours does!

Very nice. How close to you live to your community garden?

Yes, very pretty, well-tended garden you have there!
To answer your question, I don't usually grow onions - except scallions - due to space limitations.

Very nice. How close to you live to your community garden? I had to look it up. It is 1.4 mi walk. When I finish work during the week, I put on my backpack with some tools/gloves and walk down there. It use to be a working farm and when the owners retired, the town bought it about 20 years ago. It's now community gardens and open space. Lots of people bring their dogs and walk on the nearby trails. There's a pond close by. I remember looking up in the sky a couple of years ago to see a bald eagle carrying a squirming fish (about a foot long) in its talons. Amazing! I have two plots at the community gardens. We also have some "community" areas where we have strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb and asparagus. I'm planning to setup another raspberry patch (golden) later this summer. There's also a small orchard with apple, pear, peach, and cherry trees.
