I wish mine was that good, he swiped nearly a cup of cooking winter squash that I had left out after mixing up a batch of cookies. On the plus side I won't have to scrub that bowl before I put it into the dishwasher, it looks clean as a whistle.

Monster likes to sleep next to me and either put his paw or front foreleg hooked over my forearm until he thinks I am asleep. Then he moves down and sleeps against my stomach .

One of my sons snapped this picture last night: She looks so cute and sweet, and that fat, furry belly is just begging to be rubbed, right? IT'S A TRAP!!!A couple of days ago my youngest thought it would be funny to drape his jacket over Luna while she was napping. She was a little annoyed: ... but she was too lazy to do anything about it. She stayed right there and eventually went back to sleep.

Love the cat pictures, they are so huggable! Their fat furry paws and round noses are irresistible.
@imp , do you have any pictures of Monster to share?

Monster probably would not mind being photographed, as he thinks he is a person. He would be difficult to get a good picture of him as he is a midnight black, so would just be a black blob in a picture.
Ms. Piggs below
Lula above ( now deceased, Rob's special girl) hard to tell, but she had the brightest green eyes and she was not fat, but quite fluffy, Lol. She had coloring like Laura's girl, rich reds and sparkly white with midnight black.

Aww, Lula was a very pretty girl. I know you and Rob must miss her. And your Ms. Piggs looks like a sweetheart!

My 31 year old niece just bought a pet pig and named it Bacon. I think Covid fried her brain Bacon will be a sow. I offered to bring barbecue rub to massage into Bacon's skin.

While living east Texas I ended up with a pot belly pig boar and sow. I thought I was bidding on something else entirely, but got them for five dollars. The sow got about 60 lbs, but Snuffy stayed small at 35 lbs ( until fattened up later). He had been raised as a pet and was even housebroken. The cats would get tee'd at him as he would use the litter box, but not cover; they would run over and cover, yelling at him and chewing him out !
He was also a cattle thief, and the neighbors and sheriff thought it funny.

@imp, the cats also had a job to do covering up after a 35 pound pig. I actually bet that within a year Bacon will be rehomed with 2 ladies down the street who run a petting zoo. Hmmm? I thought that they hung cattle thieves in Texas?

That's what often happens with pot bellied pigs. They are not quite as cute as adults, and even if litter trained they are so big (and put a LOT in the litter box), so most people aren't willing to have one in their house long-term. So they either go to someone with an outside pen, or to a petting zoo.
Same deal with people who get pythons and other large snakes as pets. They get too big and people get rid of them. Unfortunately, they often release them into the wild. In most parts of the country pythons die in winter, but pythons are quite happy in the Everglades and are causing a huge ecological problem there. They are devouring native birds, mammals, turtles, and even alligators.
I know "stuff happens" and sometimes people have to give up pets. But it really bugs me when people buy pets without understanding the care and space they will need as adults, and without being prepared to care for the animal for its entire life.

It would have been a bad deal for the cats, but he was kept outside after he got slightly bigger than when bought. He had a nice pen and house, but he loved to get out.
And then, if no one was around to play with, he would try to steal cattle. Snuffy never did understand that size matters and that the cows could not go through the fences like he could. The cows would be bunched up on the fence with Snuffy barking at them. The neighbors or the sheriff would call, I would go fetch him up and apologize. Most of the neighbors thought it was funny, thought he was a heck of a cow dog or pig!!

Very true
Snuffy stayed pretty cute and did know a lot of tricks, very people oriented. When I moved back to town though, I couldn't even give him away, so he went to the butchers with the other 2 pigs. He did make some tasty pork and had the cleanest lard you ever saw.

Right now, I would take a monster if he likes an occasional snuggle! I seem to attract black cats.

I wonder how many stamps I would need to stick on him?
If I could afford it, I would send him to you as I worry about some one giving him a good home, but he does need to go to a new home because he and Piggs are squabbling too much. <sigh> But he will stay and be loved ( except by Piggs, LOL) unless I am sure of a good home for him.

@imp, I know what you're going through. It was such a struggle dealing with one of my cats absolutely hating another cat living in the same house for two years. But I had no luck finding a good home for Stella until my oldest son finally took her. My son is a good cat owner, by the way. I visited his place over the weekend and got give some love to Stella while I was there. He has lots of cat toys, a water fountain, a scratching post, and a huge cat tree for her. The cat tree is right in the living room. He buys her good quality cat food and monitors her intake, so she is staying at a healthy weight, too. My house is a lot calmer without Stella and Luna (the cat who hated Stella) is more affectionate than she ever has been. I hope you're able to find a good home for Monster where you can know he's loved and cared for. You'll be amazed at how much stress it takes off you when you no longer have to worry that your pets might hurt each other.

It has not become serious fighting or death matches, but more Monster wants to play "attack and roll around tussle" and Piggs is usually napping when he will land on her. Monster doesn't seem to grasp that this really tee's her off, and she chases him though the house at 92 MPH, whacking at him as she can. Maybe Monster figures better a poor reaction is better than her not playing at all?!!
No blood or such, just annoyance for Piggs as she is 6 or 7 now, and it is a big house.
I worry extra about re-homing him as he is a black cat and so very people oriented, being a hand raised cat. He is affectionate, good company and lovely to look at and pet, with his plush fur and that otter tail ( a thicker tail, not at all pointed at the end) and those gold eyes. He is a bit more dog like in that he comes when called and follows a couple commands. Since he is a hand raised Monster, I can handle him all over, even his legs and feet.
Oh well, he is here and is safe enough, and loved, so we will manage unless a better spot for him is found.

So they either go to someone with an outside pen, or to a petting zoo. We knew some people that decided that would breed pot belly pigs and sell them. Well no one would buy them. They could not give them away so they butchered them and ate them

Lily the Squirrel Slayer has branched out. Somewhere she found a deer leg and dragged it home.
