I took a different route when I went to feed the fish this afternoon. It had come a good thunderstorm and my usual path was muddy and slick. Not a good combo for me, so I took a grassy route. Never mind about that, anyways y’all probably remember me telling you about all these wild onions I have here. I snapped a quick picture for y’all. Ok, so now that I took the long way around the barn, does anyone know anything about wild onions? Are the edible? I have enough growing here, I could supply Dixon Dale Farm.

Wish that I still had some old Garden Web contacts from 20 or so years ago. We found at least 3 wild onions in Texas and Louisiana. Several made bulbs to an inch or more That did not include the common A. canadense which is really a garlic. All of the onions were so day-length sensitive that they would not reproduce up here. On the other hand, the wild garlic has been a weed for 20 years.
