Do you gas or charcoal them burgers? I have a charcoal grill I use here at the house, but I do have one of the little portable gas cylinder ones we use when we are camping.

We have a Weber gas grill and a small Coleman gas grill for camping. We also have a small charcoal grill that we don't use.

We use the gas grills, large on the patio and small for the porch when it rains. There are times though you just can't beat the flavor from a grill with charcoal or white oak . John

I have an old Marlboro premium hibachi grill, burns charcoal. Does the Coleman stove count? ;-)

I use a Big Green Egg, the medium size. It is a ceramic cooker/grill/smoker that uses lump Charcoal. I don't use lighter fluid either I use an electric starter.

Since moving here in May of last year our lil grills to a beating well me and the powers to be (the wife) were talking about getting a new one, but we just couldn't decide which we wanted gas or charcoal, don't get me wrong I love a good charcoal cooked burger ain't nothing better, but after a hard day at work I didn't like how long it took to get hot coals so I said gas as its much faster to heat up, as I thought we couldn't afford both right now we could get a charcoal grill later on, so she agreed, well to my surprise when I came home yesterday look what she done... YES... Its a combo, gas on one side, charcoal on the other, she said SURPRISE, we both got what we wanted in 1 unit and yes it took me and my son a little over 6 hrs. to put together and yes I cussed a lil...lol but all in all my son and I had a blast! Now all that's left to do is get the cast iron grills seasoned and we are good to go. Oh and by the way, I wonder what my wife meant when she said that being all excited and giggly over a grill was a man thang? ;D

I've never heard of a combo grill, either. That's cool. I love the flavor off a charcoal grill, but what we have is gas because of the convenience. That's the best of both worlds.

Daylilly you can use charcoal and still get it lit fast. The secrets are using lump charcoal and briquets and using a looftlighter. The looftlighter looks like an oversized electric curling iron. You plug it in and touch the end to the charcoal. It is blowing a jet of air at 1100F. In 20 seconds the charcoal starts shooting off sparks and you move it to 6 inches away from the same spot on the charcoal so it acts as a bellows. In about 2 minutes the fire is lit. You can find a video on youtube.

Thanks y'all and yes we used the charcoal side lastnight... steak anyone ! Now that gas side is gonna take a lil getting use too... as I seasoned the grill and while I was cooking the mouth watering steaks I turned on the gas side as I wanted to see what temp I got, well even on the lowest setting I got 425° that's a lot hotter than what I generally cook at which is 350° so I will have to be very watchful when I use that side cause its going to cook a lot faster.
