I not only enjoy all my flowers, I propagate them to add more and my extra find new homes. It is a little something I do here on the side. I really have fun with these. The blue ones I use on my table for year round bouquets, they bloom 6 months out of the year here and then I display their dried blooms... Close up of the Purple Lacecap Hydrangea Close up of the Blue Mophead Hydrangea A baby rooted Purple Lacecap A baby rooted Blue Mophead, starts out very light and turns blue slowly at first bloom. Aren't they too cute? I have about 150 of them going... What kinds of flowers are you working on?

I just have the 1 white lacecap, the blooms have already come and gone... We bought it as a Snowball Bush as that is what it said on the plant tag, but got this instead.

My sister in law gave me cuttings of her White Snowball bush and the blooms like a small version of the Blue Mophead I had posted a pic of above. The foliage does not look like a Hydrangea though, it is more delicate. They may be rooting but I won't know for a bit yet. She may be coming out soon and if she does, I will ask her to bring me more cuttings to start them for others. My neighbor has a White Hydrangea also. I wanted the Snow Ball bushes for setting off the Blue and Purple Hydrangeas I have here. A lady before me planted so many flowers here and she coordinated her colors...lucky for me I love them. The White Snowball bush is ideal in cold climates and therefore very desirable if you live with those severe winters.

Islandgirlromy, I would like to know how to get hydrangea cutting to root. I love them but they are too expensive for me to buy. I have bule mophead and would like to have some more. Do I need to do anything other than stick them in water?

Do I need to do anything other than stick them in water? I'd try it a couple ways, 1. Cutting in a glass of water. 2, Cutting with some rooting hormone in a glass of water. 3. And possibly in a terrarium with half peat-half sand and rooting hormone on cut end. I used to shovel divide mine every five+ years or so.

Coppice, thank you, I will try all of the above that you suggested except maybe the shovel divide. The bush I have is very old and I would be scared of losing it. Will let you know how this turns out.
