It is stated that it can get quite large while retaining good flavor and not becoming fibrous.
At what size would you harvest them?

I grew those only one time, and they seemed to stop growing @ about 4" - no larger than Grand Duke, and didn't grow as fast, in my garden.

I have grown them, and they do get pretty huge for me without getting woody. But they do get tough by the time they reach the size of a human head. I would say softball to small melon size is achievable with good eating quality if they are really happy and you are going for impressive size. But watch them - whenever their growth slows down they are going to start getting tough/woody. Also they can split and then rot in really hot, rainy weather. But as a practical matter, when they get really big I don't find them as useful even if they remain tender - I just can't use that much kohlrabi all at once. Softball size is plenty big for me. I plant Superschmelz at the same spacing as standard (tennis ball size) kohlrabi. Then I can harvest every other plant when they reach a tennis ball to baseball size. The remaining plants I allow to keep growing and expanding into the spaces opened up by the ones I harvested earlier. That way I can extend my harvest season.
