for the first frost to hit. The poor '23 garden is about done for and I am already beginning to plan for '24. There is a lot of clean-up to do after the freeze and when the ground and mulch dries up. There are a few tomatoes waiting to ripen a bit and the peppers are about done for. Worst year ever.
So the planning stage is coming early for next year. In front of me is the eight page tomato inventory. Last year (or was it early this year) about 25% of the inventory was purged by sending out seeds to my gardening friends here and a couple of other sites. As soon as the weather turns colder I will make another list of give-aways. Maybe there are a few who will take some old seeds off my hands. This year the thought hit me to ask folks if there are any varieties they are looking for that may be on my inventory list...old seeds or not so old...and I can share or give away to help reduce my stock.
I am not planning to stop growing for a while yet, but the years are quickly going by and no sense hanging on to seeds that will be thrown out eventually. Besides that, friends keep sending me seeds of varieties they want me to try and I do appreciate the generosity.
So what do you think? Any interest in helping get rid of tomato seeds? Let me know on this post or PM and I will begin reservations and soon a list of available seeds will appear some time down the road.
