After a disastrous 2023, here it is just about time for the 2024 garden to be started. Well, it did start the first of March in the basement with peppers and two weeks later with tomatoes and flowers for my wife's gardens. About half the number of tomato seeds were started compared to most other years. That means only half the number of extra plants to give away or compost. Twenty or so will go into my garden and the extras will be taken to our village Post Office for anyone who wants to try my strange tomatoes can have them for free. As you see, the peppers getting a two week head start are still puny compared to the tomatoes. To late for me to figure out how to properly grow peppers, but I will keep trying. Again this year most of my wife's flowers are getting started in the basement rather than buying them from the nurseries in the area. Most will be ready to outside in a week or two. The non-growing pots are Common Milkweed that takes a lot longer to germinate. Last year about twenty milkweed plants were grown and did well. Hopefully these will be OK.
