These things are crazy here? I can mow one day and it seems like a field of yellow flowers the next! I only like them because here, they always are visited by bees.

I understand these non-natives were planted to help feed the non-native honeybees. I throw a few leaves in my green blender drinks. I have dug up the roots and added to soup. Drying for coffee additive/substitute sounds good in theory. So far, I intend to eat more of them than I do. Spring is around the corner; time to rev up those good intentions!

"Dent-de-lion, " tooth of the lion, named for the shape of the leaves. Made dandelion tea once from the leaves,I know you can make it from the root also, wont bother with that again ,even with a good spoonful of honey, bitter for me but the young leaves are quite pleasant in a salad ,little peppery, seems they contain more beta carotene than carrots, most of mine go to the family rabbit as I don't have enough to make wine, gone are the days I want to go dandelion hunting but like most things ,you never can tell, this year I might just do that.

I know this thread is old and some posters aren't here anymore but I wanted to say that pet rabbits should NEVER eat greens that are high in calcium.

For wild ones sugar is the concern. Carrots and fruit. Especially apples which can be fatal over time. Wild rabbits like house rabbits, have very delicate digestive systems.
