I plant radishes as a trap crop in front of the tomatoes, peppers, potatoes etc and the beetles tend to stay off of them.

They absolutely destroyed some amaranth I planted, but didn't mess with anything else.

Mustard greens can be used as a trap crop for flea beetles. Plant the mustard away from your produce garden, so that the beetles will stay in the mustard.

Ahhh...they wiped out my swiss chard last year...going to give them radishes and mustard greens this year. Finally, I use for radishes!
