Which do you prefer as to the way you grow your cucumbers?

Vining and up on trellis. I like anything I don't need to crawl around to get. Getting up and back into chair is becoming increasingly problematic for me.

Ciao all-
I also go for mostly pole habit if I have a choice. It's a space-saver because I can grow shorter things around them and as coppice said, it's easier to harvest from a trellis. It's good to have a choice, though, so people with balconies can still grow beans and cucumbers.

Vining and on a trellis. I just use more concrete wire tomato cages for them.

I did my early cucs with a few short poles and twine but it didnt work well. I did the later cucs right where the peas had been and used pea fence and every few days wind the vines some. It is awesome. They are Super Zagross. Love it!

I make a 3 sided fence with hog wire to go around mine. Cause I have to do it myself, and this is something I can do alone. Been doing it this way for 15 years, and it works well-even though they do escape and ramble some in the yard.

Vines, on the garden fence. Tried bush type once and they turned out well, but for some reason I haven't bought bush seeds again. Usually grow straight 8's for salad. For the pickles, I just buy whatever--don't really have a preference.

I've never grown the bush cukes. My vines grow up concrete reinforcing cages, winding around till they look like a jungle.

I like vining . I have grown the lemon apple which I let sprawl as thats what it wanted to do, so I guess that's a bush type, got it in a trade ,didn't know any thing about it ,certainly did produce well. I like straight 8s they grow very well here,I like things I can relay on . I have a trade of cuc seeds which are marked as DELCAH, now they are from a few years ago ,cant remember just who traded with me so I don't know if the spelling is wrong ,I cant find any info on them....Any one recognize that name
