If you have the luxury of picking and choosing where your garden or orchard grows, its worth mention that when air can drain, its will assist with yield in ways sometimes folks don't think of.
Sometimes you'll see this referred to as micro climates.
The readers digest is: cold air drains. And by the very passage of that draining air, it acts warmer than it is. An observant Gardener may see where other gardens at both the top and bottom of a hill get frosted before the one on the middle of a hill.
