Mine sprouted grew about maybe a foot long, stopped and the plant is starting to yellow, so prolly won't have any this year...

You still have time to replant if you want. I put in some more this weekend and still plan to put in some more seeds.
Are there any signs of borers on the plant? Hole in the stem with yellow "sawdust"?

Alrighty then, TDD talked me into planting more, so here is what I have to choose from, Sweet Dumpling or Thelma Sanders, which would you choose?

Thelma Sanders Sweet Dumpling is tiny and both are Pepos.

My father brought me the first Chirimen squash out of his garden and it is a beauty! Not very big but surprisingly heavy...can't wait to see how they taste.

Obabe, I'd wondered about those. I hope you have better luck with them than I had with Futsu in the past. I'm running behind schedule this year but all of mine are supposed to be over 5 pounds and some are supposed to get close to 20 if they live.

I am of the opinion that winter squash do not like high heat. You might be able to baby the first planting along if you provide some afternoon shade for the plants.
