In the rush to get tomatoes out (everybody is late this year) it is easy to forget other goodies. I have four types of zukes. Some are hybrid.Three types of cukes. Then there are melons. Alibaba is going to be planted this year for the first time. Also have Souters watermelon which is a rare New Zealand heirloom. Really hope everything goes well.Very eager to try them. Also have Sweet Freckles melon which is related to the Crane Melon.
It was raining but just a gentile rain. The soil has been pretty dry since we have been having high temps. So after I finish planting bed three and am spared some time before more rain comes I will be digging up bed four. I will plant more maters there.

Kevin, will there still be enough time left to get much produce?

Should be.I planted in to mid June 09 when I landed in the hospital.A bit late I know but we still managed to get a decent harvest. The norm here for first frost is around the 31rst of October.
