Having the hardest time finding the best spot to plant Broccoli, Cauliflower and Kale because they are part of the cabbage family and do not play well with others. I looked at suggested companion plants and it said they grow well with Celery, potatoes, corn and onions (not planting any of these) but do not put them next to pole beans, tomatoes (planting both). I am also planting summar and winter squash, cucumbers, Orach, bush beans. I am rotatiing my planting this year. Should I just make the cabbage types there own garden? How do you plan layouts for companion planting? this is getting frustrating.

RSC, if you can put them off into a section of the garden by themselves why not just do that? Or test the companion planting thing with your own experiment. Lots of 'things' I've been told NOT to do in the garden don't have horrific results even when I do them
